Won't tolerate indiscipline: India hockey coach
Two players, Sandeep and Sardara Singh, left the ongoing national camp without notice.

Bangalore: The new chief coach of India's men's hockey team, Michael Nobbs, seems to be a no-nonsense man as he has come down hard on Sandeep Singh and Sardara Singh, the two players who left the ongoing national camp here without prior notice.

Going by what Nobbs had to say about the two playmakers, they may not be seen in India colours ever again.

"They have no place in the team in the foreseeable future. The younger kids are the future and the quicker we develop them, the quicker the team moves ahead," said Nobbs.

"I would say it is almost impossible to take them back now. I could never trust what they say in the future. They said they would not do this and they have," the Australian added.

Nobbs reiterated what he had said earlier that India's focus should be on promoting youngster to build a team for the future.

"We will focus on youth. No matter what the result in China, we will promote the youngsters," said a visibly upset Nobbs.

Nobbs' deputy SS Grewal too backed the chief coach. "Discipline is paramount and the Indian team is no place for undisciplined players. We wouldn’t want them back in the team," said Grewal.
