Western Odisha lawyers call for bandh on May 8

SAMBALPUR: Lawyers of the region have called for Western Odisha bandh on May 8 if the State Government does not fulfil their demand for arrest and transfer of Collector Mrinalini Darswal. This was decided at a meeting of Sambalpur District Bar Association (SDBA) and the Central Action Committee (CAC) of Western Odisha Bar Association (WOBA) here on Sunday. The CAC also demanded judicial inquiry into the April 23 incident. The SDBA members have decided to resort to ceasework till May 7, demanding the arrest of Darswal. Meanwhile, State Women Commission Chairperson Jyoti Panigrahi on Sunday visited Sambalpur to probe the incident.
