BANGALORE: The Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee’s recommendation for a probe into the alleged kickbacks to a trust owned by kin of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has vindicated our demand for a CBI inquiry into the illegal mining in Karnataka, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah said here on Friday.Welcoming the decision of the CEC, he said that the BJP has “lost all moral authority to remain in power”.The Opposition leader dubbed the BJP government as “most corrupt” and added that its early dismissal would only be good for the state.Meanwhile, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, too, welcomed the CEC’s decision to recommend a probe from an independent agency such as the CBI. This only means that the CEC has realised that there exists a strong case against Yeddyurappa and his family members, he said.Claiming the current dispensation in the state as one of the “worst ever”, he said the people of the state are waiting for an opportunity to teach the BJP a bitter lesson in the upcoming elections.
