A Jet Airways flight from Port Blair tried to land on the out of bounds primary runway, where repair work was on, ATC sources said.
Kolkata: Passengers of a private airlines' flight bound for NSC Bose International Airport in Kolkata had a providential escape as it tried to land at an under repair runway, but was directed to land on another in the last minute on Friday.
A Jet Airways flight from Port Blair at around 3.45 pm tried to land on the out of bounds primary runway, where repair work was on, ATC sources said.
As the ATC noticed that the plane was heading towards the wrong approach, it instructed the pilot to change course and descend on the secondary runway.
The pilot complied with the instruction and landed the plane on the secondary runway, averting any disaster, they said.
