Carnage is based on the play 'God of Carnage' by French playwright Yasmina Reza.

New Delhi: The first teaser of director Roman Polanski's dark satire 'Carnage' is out. Based upon the famous play 'God of Carnage' by French playwright Yasmina Reza, 'Carnage' portrays the emotional involvement of two different sets of parents with their children.

The characters are based in Brooklyn, US, where they get into an argument with each other after a small school backyard fight between their children.

Promoted by the Sony Pictures Classics, the film is shot entirely in Paris, where Polanski had to reconstruct Brooklyn, as he feared arrest on entering the US. Polanski was recently convicted in a case of underage sex and put on house arrest in a chalet in Switzerland.

The French-Polish director had left the US in 1978 after he admitted to having sex with a minor and was later arrested in Switzerland.

'Carnage'is a test for Polanski's directorial skills also, as one-act plays of Reza are generally considered difficult for screen adaptation. The film is scheduled to hit the screens in September, 2011.

The star cast of the emotional roller coaster that Carnage promises to be includes Oscar winners Kate Winslet and Jodie Foster, along with Christoph Waltz and John C Reilly.
