Tata Motors successfully launched the Punch EV in the Indian market a few days ago, and the electric SUV has now begun its nationwide deliveries, as reported by HT.
Priced between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Punch EV is set to experience a 0.7 percent price increase across Tata Motors’ entire passenger vehicle range, including both internal combustion and electric vehicles, starting from February 1, 2024.
The Punch EV is offered in two variants: Standard and Long Range, and it comes in five different trim levels: Adventure, Smart, Smart+, Empowered, and Empowered+.
The Smart and Smart+ variants are available in the Standard option, while the other three can be obtained in both Standard and Long Range configurations.
The electric SUV is equipped with two battery pack options – a 25 kWh and a 35 kWh, providing a range of 315 km and 421 km on a single charge, respectively.
This marks Tata Motors’ second electric SUV after the Nexon EV and the fourth all-electric car from the company, following the Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Nexon EV.
Notably, the Punch EV is the first vehicle from Tata Motors built on the acti.ev pure electric architecture, a modular platform designed to accommodate various electric vehicles across different body styles.
In terms of design, the Tata Punch EV shares a similar styling with the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the SUV but incorporates distinctive design elements specific to its electric nature.
On the feature front, the top-end Empowered+ variant of the SUV offers a comprehensive range of features, including a sizable 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, air purifier, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and more.
The exterior of the vehicle boasts a sophisticated design with LED projector headlamps accompanied by Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The rear is adorned with LED taillamps, while LED front fog lamps with cornering capabilities add both style and functionality.
A captivating feature includes sequence animations for the front lights, contributing to a dynamic and modern aesthetic. The 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels ensure a smooth and stylish ride.
Additionally, practical elements such as roof rails and a shark fin antenna further accentuate the vehicle’s exterior.
The vehicle prioritises safety with features including six airbags, a 360-degree camera for enhanced visibility, ISOFIX mounts for secure child seat attachment, hill hold and descent control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a rear wiper and defogger for adverse weather conditions, and a blind spot view monitor for increased awareness during lane changes.
