New Delhi: US Vice President Mike Pence has expressed his desire to visit the office of SpiceJet during his yet-to-be-scheduled India trip. The Chairman and Managing Director of the airline, Ajay Singh, recently met Pence, who told him that the SpiceJet-Boeing deal was extensively discussed in the Modi-Trump meeting.

“Pence informed that he was invited by the PM Modi to visit India which the Republican leader has accepted. Pence also added that he would like to visit the SpiceJet office when he visits,” said Singh.

Singh added that the VP thanked SpiceJet for the more than 100 Boeing planes order, thus creating high value jobs in the US.

Pence, while addressing the 42nd annual gala of the US-India Business Council (USIBC), said, “The Indo-US partnership has never looked brighter with the best days for the two nations yet to come. I was very humbled when the Prime Minister Modi extended a personal invitation to me to represent the United States. And we're already making plans to take it up on his invitation.”

The Vice President said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with President Trump was historic and productive. “Today I say with confidence that our friendship would grow and deepen."

“I know that American companies are going to continue to give India’s aviation industry the wings it needs to soar. Let me take this opportunity, as the President did, to say thank you to SpiceJet for investing and believing in American workers and American businesses,” added Pence.
