New Delhi: Investigations into the death of Uttar Pradesh deputy chief medical officer Dr YS Sachan so far suggest that he was not murdered but committed suicide.
Sources said that Sachan might have committed suicide as he was under intense mental pressure because of police investigations into two other CMOs murder.
The CBI had filed a case on July 15, 2011 in Lucknow in murder of deputy chief medical officer Dr YS Sachan, days after the Maywati government, under pressure, ordered a CBI investigation.
Sachan, who was himself accused in the murder of Lucknow CMO BP Singh, was found dead in a Lucknow prison in June 2011.
Arrested on charges of National Rural Health Mission fund embezzlement, 52-year-old Sachan was also named as the key conspirator in the murder case of CMO BP Singh in April following the arrest of three shooters hired to kill him.
