U-folks ask MLAs, ministers to quit

KADAPA: The TDP and PRP activists picketed the ZP office, the venue of the the District Review Committee (DRC) meeting on Wednesday demanding the MLAs, including the minister to resign their posts in support of Samaikyandhra movement.The protestors led by PRP district president B Hariprasad and TDP state secretary S Govardhan Reddy mobbed YSRC legislator YS Vijayamma, A Amarnath Reddy and G Srikanth Reddy at the ZP gate when they came to attend the meeting.Police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the mob. In the melee, TDP leader Venkatasubba Reddy sustained minor injury.Meanwhile, ABVP leaders Suresh and Raman stormed into the hall when the DRC meeting was about to commence, squatted  before the dais, raised slogans in support of Samaikyandhra and demanded people’s representatives to resign  their posts.   The police took the duo out of the hall.Later, medical and health minister DL Ravindra Reddy came out of the meeting hall and reiterated his commitment to Samaikyandhra. He told the agitators that leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema region were meeting in Vijayawada on July 16 to decide the future course of action. He said he was ready to quit the minister’s post, if the situation warranted.TNSF district president Ravishankar Reddy, PRP leader Sankaraiah, TD leader Saibaba were present.
