HYDERABAD: All left party leaders across India will work unitedly to develop a common agenda and challenge the monopoly on economic resources by a few. They will build the kind of democratic movements needed for the purpose announced Varavara Rao, left-wing writer and poet.The Revolutionary Democratic Front, towards this end, will organise a two-day national conference from April 22 at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad.He said, the objectives of the conference are to analyse the effects of global economic crises on the nation, demand an immediate halt to Operation Green Hunt and withdrawal of armed forces from Bastar district of Chhattisgarh state.There would be serious discussions on Dalit and Adivasi issues relating to land allocations and exploitation of natural resources in tribal areas by corporate companies.“The present government has become an agent for foreign companies and was selling the land and resources belonging to adivasis,” he alleged. In the two-day national conference, writer and social activist Arundhati Roy and many other national-level progressive thinkers, social and human rights activists will speak.
