Two more surrender in Jegan murder case

The surrendered  are Tamil (23) of Orleanpet and David (23) of Muthialpet.Meanwhile, Puducherry police have initiated the proceedings for taking custody of 14 persons - Arun, Ayappan, Murali, Dandapani, Susairaj, Jana (alias) Parimelazhagar, Satish (alias) Ravi, Mahesh, Pokkairaja, Dileep, Sankar, Anthonysamy, Stephen and Sundar (alias) Sakthivel -who surrendered before a court in Tindivanam on Monday.Besides, Puducherry police have already arrested  five persons - Tamilselvan, Mani @ Suthi Mani, Mathiash, Selvam and Zampole - in connection with the murder.Jegan, who was serving a life term and was lodged in the Karaikal sub-jail, was killed on the spot when a gang hurled country-made explosives on the police vehicle when it was on the Chunnambar Bridge.The van was carrying Jegan after being produced in a local court in Puducherry.first published:August 15, 2012, 11:49 ISTlast updated:August 15, 2012, 11:49 IST
