The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court on Thursday awarded rigorous life imprisonment to two accused in the murder of a Bihari youth at Poothamkutty in Angamaly.
The court slapped a fine of `50,000 to the two accused- Indal Kuamr and Chattu Chaudhari, both hailing from Bihar.
The accused had killed their co worker Kaushal Kumar in November, 2003.
Prosecutor Premson Paul Manjamattom submitted that the two accused decided to kill Kaushal as he had overheard their plot to kill somebody in Bihar.
Fearing that Kaushal may reveal their plot, the two entered into a conspiracy and executed the offense.
Kaushal was strangled to death and the body was dumped in a pit. After dumping his body, they put two bags of metal over it.
Later, they covered the pit with mud. The body was dug out one-and-a-half month after the incident.
