Two police constables and a home guard were arrested on Tuesday for extorting money from a TV channel reporter who was doing a sting operation.
On receiving a tipoff that flesh trade is going on at Secunderabad railway station, the reporter reached the place with his crew on Monday night.
As part of the operation, he hired a sex worker from the place who requested him to go to a place in Marredpally promising no police would raid.
The crew followed as the reporter with the sex worker left to Marredpally in an auto.
Near Ganesh temple at Marredpally, a home guard in plain-clothes stopped the auto and enquired about them.
As the woman revealed her identity, the home guard, Narasimha, called up two police constables, Uday Kumar and Subash, from Marredpally police station.
The police constables and the homeguard asked the sex worker and the auto to leave and demanded money from the reporter.
