BHUBANESWAR: At the Special Jail here, snakes co-habit with inmates. Two baby cobras were traced on the prison premises on Sunday morning. The Snake Helpline members rescued the snakes and relocated them. One reptile was found from the main premises of the jail, while another was just outside the precincts. Around noon, the jail inmates spotted the snake and informed Suvendu Mallick of the Snake Helpline. Mallick rushed to the spot and captured the one and a half feet reptile from the garden. Soon after another was traced and captured. The City Forest Division was intimated and a team is likely to scan the jail premises on Monday to flush out more snakes, if any. “Since both the snakes were babies, we apprehend a bunch around the place,” said a jail official.
