In a report submitted to Home Minster R Ashok on Wednesday, she also accused the boys at the party of taking drugs, though the police had stated that they found no drugs at the homestay. “We found a few bottles of beer,” Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh had told Express.
But in her report, she said, “I gathered information that the boys were high on drugs but the police let them off without medical tests.”
She sought action against homestay owner Loretta Rebello and owner of Just Casuals, a garment store. Former head of the commission Pramila Nesargi criticised Manjula for seeking the transfer of the police officer. “How can one punish the father if his daughter goes to a party?” she said.
