Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was challaned for overspeeding his car on June 12

New Delhi: In an embarrassment for Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi was challaned for overspeeding his car on June 12. Sisodia's driver was behind teh wheels when the challan was issued.

According to reports, the traffic police constable at Khajuri Chowk asked Sisodia's driver to stop after he was found overspeeding but he refused to follow the order. The traffic violation led to an hour-long chase by the policemen before they finally got the car to stop.

Sisodia, who was in the back seat at the time was fined Rs 400.

AAP leader Ashutosh came out in support of Sisodia and commended him for paying the fine. "Salute to MANISH SISODIA Deputy CM for paying Chalan to traffic police. Don't remember BJP/Congress leaders ever doing some thing like this," he said in his tweet.

However, Ashutosh later took off the tweet.

Such an event comes to the notice at a time when the AAP is already shaken over the resignation of their law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar who is arrested in a fake degree case. Also, Somnath Bharti is facing a legal battle after his wife accused him of domestic violence.
