New Delhi: The more things change the more they stay the same, in the golfing world at least.
Tiger Woods has won the USPGA Tour Player of the Year for the third consecutive time. Here he is reflecting on the year gone by.
In 2007, Tiger Woods won seven tournaments including his 13th career major. So it was no surprise when he was chosen as the PGA Tour Player of the Year by his peers for the ninth time. The 31-year-old couldn't have have asked for a better Christmas present.
"It's been a great year. Overall, to get the wins and the respect of your peers, that's ultimately what you want to happen. This year was just a fantastic year on the golf course, and even better off the golf course," Woods says.
And this is the reason Tiger had a great year off the course. He and his wife Elin welcomed a daughter named Sam into their world.
"I've said this before, after my father passed away, I think probably every kid feels the same way. You feel like you didn't spend enough time with them. I felt that way about my dad. I want to feel that way with my daughter. I want to feel and appreciate that, even the sleepless nights and the difficulties sometimes when she gets sick," he adds.
Now Woods wants to quickly shake off any rust from his 10-week long layoff as he looks to defend the Target World Challenge for the fourth time this week.
