Bengaluru: Three people were injured when Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde's motorcade met with a minor accident on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 5 pm near Savakahalli gate on the outskirts of Bengaluru when the minister was travelling from Tumkur to Devanahalli airport.
Police said Hegde’s escort vehicle slowed down when a monkey crossed the road, an Innova which was following the minister’s convoy hit one of the escort vehicles. Three people were injured.
The driver of the Innova has been booked for negligent driving.
Babu, an eyewitness, told regional media that an escort vehicle of Hegde’s convoy suddenly applied brakes leading to a pile-up.
