BANGALORE: Bangalore will host an intercollegiate quiz competition as part of the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Week, organised by the Embassy of Sweden in India.The first qualifying round of The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz 2011 will be held today at R V College of Engineering campus from 10 am.The quiz will have over 20 colleges participating from the city.The quiz is open for both post graduates and under graduates.The quiz winners will be travelling to New Delhi to represent our city in Grand Finale at IIT.Apart from Bangalore, the regional qualifiers will also be held in Chennai, Pune, Mumbai and New Delhi.The winners will get an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden for an industrial visit.Adittya Nath Mubayi, semifinalist of BBC Mastermind, research head for the famous reality show on Indian television Kaun Banega Crorepati and Mastermind India will be the quiz master for this year.The quiz is conducted to promote the Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week in memory of Swedish innovator, entrepreneur and philanthropist Alfred Nobel and also celebrates the Indian Nobel Laureates.Apart from the quiz, there will also be a stamp exhibition.Dr R Sango Ram, a retired professor of chemistry and an avid philatelist will be exhibiting his collection of stamps.He will display over 80 sheets of stamps regarding the Nobel prizes during this event.
