CHENNAI: Now, management professionals who do not have proper academic qualifications in the subject need not take a break from work to study. An online management course, which is touted be of world-class quality, has been launched by www.myBskool.com recently, targeting these professionals especially among the masses. The course has been started in partnership with IMT Ghaziabad. “The course has been launched with the motive of terminating the word ‘distance’ from distance education,” said K Swaminathan, founder and CEO of the venture, who adds that the venture was started with the idea of making it the ‘Facebook’ of management education. “A lot more can be added to distance education when it is made online. Interactive learning and involvement of management gurus are some of its salient features,” said Swaminathan. Though there are more than 3,000 management programmes available in the country, most of them either lack quality or do not have qualified faculty, said NK Dhooper, Advisor and Professor of IMT Ghaziabad. “The only alternative to bridge the gap is to have online education systems where qualified teachers can record their programmes, which can be used for teaching,” he said. “It has become important for young professionals to have a management degree in hand to progress in their career. With estimates that India will require close to 20 million managers in the next 10 years, quality education becomes imperative,” adds Dhooper.
