New Delhi: Home Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan began in Islamabad on Tuesday. Issues relating to terrorism, counterfeit currency, drug trafficking, exchange of prisoners and a more liberal visa regime will be discussed.
Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta will seek an update on Pakistani investigations into last year's Indian embassy bombing in Kabul, while Pakistan is expected to raise Maharashtra ATS claims that Hindu radicals may have been behind the Samjhauta train bombing.
The Indian Government had given Islamabad pictures and contact details of Pakistani suspects to investigate the bombings.
Meanwhile, 101 Indian prisoners being released by Pakistan will cross the Wagah border Wednesday when Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will be in New Delhi to discuss confidence building measures with his counterpart Pranab Mukherjee.
Pakistan Sunday announced that that 99 Indian fishermen arrested for illegally entering into Pakistan's territory and two other prisoners who have completed their jail terms will be handed over to the Indian authorities at the Wagah border on Wednesday.
