CHENNAI: After Tamils in Lanka, it’s the turn of those in Malaysia to seek help from their country of origin. London-based lawyer and president of Malaysian human rights organisation HINDRAF, P Waythamoorthy, on Tuesday appealed to the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to lend her support to stop human rights violations meted out on Indian-origin Tamils by Malaysian government.Speaking to reporters here during his short trip in India, Waythamoorthy said, “A resolution on the similar lines where the Tamil Nadu State Assembly asked the Indian government to impose economic sanctions on Lankan government for its poor human rights record recently, could help us to carry forward the fight in Malaysia.”
