Tamil women nabbed on theft charges

KOCHI: The city police on Monday arrested two women hailing from Tamil Nadu on charges of robbery. The arrested have been identified as Muthu, 24, and Mallika, 25, both hailing from  Tirunelveli.According to Kadavanthra Sub-Inspector A  Ananthalal, the arrested were part of a group that was camping near Aluva.  “The group has come all the way from Tamil Nadu to commit burglary. We are closely watching the activities of the group,” the officer said. The arrested were carrying two sacks full of electric cables, iron sheets and water meters. They were presented before the court and later released on bail.
