Talk by Santhosh Hegde at ASB

Former Supreme Court Justice N Santhosh Hegde will speak on ‘The role of Indian youth in democracy’ in a session organised jointly by Asian School of Business (ASB) and Young Indians (Yi) on the Technocity campus of the business school on Thursday at 2 pm.

Justice Hegde’s address will outline the present state of democracy in the country and the key role that youth can play to strengthen Indian democracy. He will also touch upon the contribution that youngsters can make to redeem the country from the vicious circle of corruption.

Justice Hegde has held key positions such as the Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Solicitor General of India and the Advocate General of Karnataka. Later, Justice Hegde joined the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare as a core member. However, he left Team Anna recently when there were moves by it to form a political party.

The talk is being organised by ASB as part of its ‘Leadership Lecture’ series aimed at offering holistic learning opportunities to its management students. In the previous edition, Dr Atanu Dey, economist from the University of California, Berkeley, spoke about ‘India’s past, present and possible futures.’
