Los Angeles: As the buzz surrounding Superman Returns reached a crescendo, the stars of the film turned up for the film's premiere on June 21 at the Mann Village Theater, Los Angeles and took the opportunity to clear a few myths surrounding the man of steel.
Though Superman officially returns to theatres at the end of June, the superhero got a super premiere. Various fans crowded the streets around the venue to catch a glimpse of the stars on arrival.
The star of the day Brandon Routh came in looking like Clark Kent minus the spectacles.
"One can see that Superman has matured in this movie. We see him going through real human emotions, which we've never seen before and I think that is great for audiences. It draws audiences in and they feel a part of Superman," said Routh.
For director Bryan Singer, the film is a tribute to filmmaker Richard Donner - the man who brought Superman to the big screen for the first time. And Singer's excitement took flight when Donner himself showed up for the event.
The premiere may have set the ball rolling for the fight by good against evil, but audiences will have to wait and watch whether Singer's vision resurrects the Superman franchise.
