Patiala: A 10th class student Manpreet Kaur was set on fire by three women who suspected the girl of stealing a mobile phone. Kaur suffered 85 per cent burns and is in a critical condition in Patiala's Rajendra Nagar hospital.

The girl has denied that she had stolen any mobile phone. When the matter came before the panchayat, the girl's family members said if they would buy a new mobile and give it to three women. But the three women were not satisfied and when Manpreet Kaur was alone the all three - Taranpreet, Veerpal and Sarabjit - entered her house, poured kerosene on her and then set her on fire.
