SSLC toppers feted

BANGALORE: SSLC toppers from Bangalore North schools were felicitated at the 26th Pratibha Puraskara programme, organised by the Karnataka State Secondary Teacher’s Association here on Saturday.At the Pratibha Puraskara, 403 SSLC students were honoured, wherein 328 students were toppers from SSLC schools and 75 students were children of teachers, who have scored 85 per cent and above.Addressing the gathering, the chief guest Dr S C Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Tumkur University, advised the students to respect their parents, teachers and most importantly education.Dr Sharma also asked the students to select a good course when pursuing their education and also to consider subjects like music and drama, if it interests them and urged parents to encourage for the same.“When the heart is pure and the mind is set, it is true education,” Dr Sharma said.Student speaker Chandrachud of Sri Vani Education Centre, who scored a 98.88 per cent, said, “Through such programmes I get motivated to do better.”
