BANGALORE: Dedicating his resounding victory in the recently held Bellary byelection to the “people of Bellary”, former minister and newly-elected independent legislator B Sriramulu hinted at the creation of a new political party.Addressing the media at the lobby of the Legislative Council on Wednesday, Sriramulu credited his success to the overwhelming support of the people. “People of Bellary have stood behind me like a rock despite the all-out efforts of the BJP to defeat me,” he said, while recalling that the entire government was stationed in Bellary to block his re-entry to the Vidhana Soudha. Sriramulu also thanked both JD(S) and JD(U) parties for extending their moral support during the Bellary byelection campaign.Unveiling his future plans, the former health minister said, “I have plans to tour the entire state and meet people belonging to all sections of society.”While not ruling out possibilities to float a new political outfit, he said that before embarking upon any such venture, he will consult his close aide and guide, G Janardhana Reddy, intellectuals and other friends.
