BANGALORE: Bajaj Allianz has launched a ‘Drive Safely’ campaign in Bangalore from October 9 till October 11, to promote the concept of road safety, as a run-up to the upcoming first Indian Formula One Grand Prix. The ‘Drive Safely’ campaign will promote road safety aspects through interactive games based on Formula One racing. The participants would also get an opportunity to meet F1 driving champion Nico Rosberg from Team Mercedes Petronas GP on October 25 at Noida.Rituraj Bhattacharya, head, market management, Bajaj Allianz, said, “Studies show that nearly 150,000 deaths occur due to road accidents every year in India. We are concerned about safe driving as an increased awareness means lesser accidents and fewer damages. With the Formula One fever catching on across the country, there is a lot of frenzy about ‘speed’.We feel this is an apt time to initiate the ‘Drive Safely’ campaign at major cities.” The ‘Drive Safely’ mobile van will comprise a magnetic car racing track and a video wall for games, safety tips by Nico Rosberg and quizzes based on Formula One and insurance.Rituraj added, “People can experience the thrill of ‘speed’ through the unique magnetic track F1 games during the roadshow, but we urge them not to try the same in real life as accidents can cause loss of life as well.” The ‘Drive Safely’ campaign will subsequently move on to other cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and culminate in Delhi on the eve of the Formula One Grand Prix. The campaign is a 360 degree activation campaign which includes radio activities in the city where the vans are present, apart from reaching out to 15 malls within the country. The event is a novel initiative that combines road safety with the theme of Formula One racing
