Pune: Alleging that country's investigating agencies lack independence, key member of Team Anna and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi on Friday called for a single investigating entity, which can "work independently and effectively towards fighting corruption".
Speaking to reporters in Pune, she said, "The investigating agencies are politically controlled and the present government would keep the CBI with it, so that it can investigate Kalmadi-kind of cases as it wants," she alleged.
On the core group meeting of Team Anna, she said, "We are meeting at Ralegan Siddhi on Saturday and Sunday, where we will decide our future course of action. After Anna's fast at Ramleela Maidan at New Delhi, this will be our first meeting. We will discuss about the electoral reforms as well."
When asked about Swami Agnivesh, a prominent member of the Core group, who parted ways after circulation of a CD, which showed him purportedly talking to Union Minister Kapil Sibal and telling him to act tough with Hazare, Bedi said, "Now, he will speak for himself. He will not be the part of this core group. We don’t know where he is right now."
