TUMKUR: A family of of the Sillekyatha community returned to Hasanpura village on Saturday night, amidst tight police security.
They were forced to leave the village by uppercaste goons as a boy from their community, Narayana, had eloped with an uppercaste girl.The family, including Shivanna, Tippeswamy and Anjinamma, after being subjected to the ordeal, were brought back by Dalit organisations.

Meanwhile, following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Dr C Somashekara, Assistant Commissioner Rangenahalli Kumar and other officials visited the village. Kyathasandra police have booked the parents and the relatives of the uppercaste girl, who had allegedly committed atrocities against the community.
