BANGALORE Opposition leader in the Assembly Siddaramaiah on Friday openly admitted that he was nursing an ambition to become the chief minister of the state. “Yes, I want to become the chief minister. Why should I not try for the post?” he said while reacting to state BJP president K S Eshwarappa’s taunt that the former was capable of becoming the CM, but his own party men were creating hurdles for him.It all started when Siddaramaiah during his Assembly speech, tried to pull Eshwarappa’s leg by saying that the latter, during his tenure, did not get as much funds as Shobha Karandlaje was presently getting to purchase power.Taking objection to this, Eshwarappa said, “Allocation of funds happens on the bases of requirement. During my tenure, the demand was not as high as it is now,” he added. We all know Siddaramaiah is a very talented leader and is capable of becoming the CM. But the problem is that he is in the wrong party. Leaders of his present party would not allow him to realise his dream, he chided.“To become the chief minister is my target, not a dream. I am going on the right direction. Nobody can deviate me from my path. ou (Eshwarappa) need not worry about my future,” Siddaramaiah said.
