For the first time, Technopark is hosting a short film competition exclusively for techies. Prathidwani, a socio-cultural organisation of Technopark employees, is organising ‘Qisa 2012’, the first short film festival and competition at Technopark, on September 15.
Entry is restricted to films directed by techies after August 1. The best short film, second best short film, best director and best actor will be given cash prizes on September 20. The judging panel consists of film critic M F Thomas, writer Rose Mary and film director Nooranadu Ramachandran.
“Qisa film festival (QFF) is much more than presenting short films. It features talent across all genres, including comedy, drama, horror and sci-fi. This is the ultimate showcase for writers, directors, actors, TV creators and filmmakers from Technopark. It provides creative individuals of diverse backgrounds an opportunity to get their materials in front of key decisions makers,” said Vinu P V, one of the members of Prathidwani. The prize money for the best film is ` 11,111.
After the launch of Nakshatra, a film club for techies by Natana, Technopark’s fine arts club, another organisation, Prathidwani, has taken a major step by organising a short film festival for techies. Prathidwani gained popularity among the techies with the screening of the national award-winning film ‘Byari’ at Technopark. The organisation had also arranged an interaction with its director Suveeran back in April.
