An encounter broke out between Delhi Police and gangsters at a luxury car showroom in the Naraina Vihar area of West Delhi. The gunmen fired at the establishment before fleeing. The incident reportedly occurred last week, on September 27.
Khan was sighted on a motorcycle and was signalled to stop, but he fired two shots towards the police party.
According to sources, gangster Armaan Khan was shot in an encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell in the Kanjhawala area. Arman is a resident of Charki Dadri in Haryana.
It has been learnt that Khan was the main shooter in the case. He has been admitted to a hospital.
Delhi Police recovered weapons and live cartridges from the accused. Around 6 rounds were fired in the encounter. Khan’s pistol, a semi-automatic one, and the motorcycle he was riding, were seized by police.
As per preliminary information, the firing was done at the behest of US-based gangster Himanshu Bhau. The suspicion rose after the attackers left behind a slip of paper with the name of gangster Himanshu Bhau written on it. A slip reading “Himanshu bhau since 2020” was recovered from the spot.
The gangster demanded Rs 5 crore from the owner of the car showroom as protection money, they said.
Before firing at the showroom, Khan was in constant touch with gangster Himanshu, who is in the USA, through a signal app.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik said a team was posted in northwest Delhi’s Majra Dabas on a tip-off about Khan’s presence in the area.
The police has launched an investigation into the matter. Search for more of his accomplices is underway.
