Shiney innocent, that's the truth: Wife

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja has been arrested by the Mumbai police on charges of alleged rape of a domestic help.

CNN-IBN correspondent Prachi Jatania spoke to Anupam Ahuja, wife of Shiney Ahuja who was visibly shaken, but sure that Shiney was innocent.

Anupam: We know one thing and that is that Shiney is innocent. That gives us tremendous strength, because we know he is innocent. We have nothing to fear. We are going to win this. We are going through a bad phase, that's fine but we are going to come out of it, and we are going to come out of it victorious. We are on the side of truth. God is with us. Positive energy and prayers are with us.

Shiney is innocent. I have known Shiney for 15 years. We have a lovely marriage. Regardless of all the reports that said we were separated, they married us, divorced us several times. Even three days ago, I read that I was overseas. We are all in it together. Shiney is a great man, simple man, wonderful father, great husband. We have only one that goes for us, which is the truth. All our coping, all our strength that we get is from truth Truth gives us the power to stand up against such an allegation. Because it is a lie and lies cannot hold for long.

Truth will win and I have complete faith in our judiciary system that truth will emerge.

Prachi Jatania: What about your daughter? Isn't she asking for her father?

Anupam:My daughter is in New Delhi. She is with her dadi (grandmother), masi (aunty), nana and her nani (maternal uncle and aunt). I do not want to get her here with all these negative vibrations and negative energies. That is the reason why I wanted to stay out of the limelight in the first place.

Prachi Jatania:What about Shiney's confession statement?

Anupam: Shiney has not confessed. That's a lie. That's again a lie. There is nothing to hide.

Prachi Jatania:Have you met Shiney after his arrest?

Anupam: I only saw him in court the other day. I am not allowed to meet him, because that is the law, which I submit to respectfully and I want to go with the law, I want to do this properly because we are truthful. When we saw each other we knew that this was a lie. We don't have to speak. We both know he is innocent. There is nothing to speak. There are no explanations needed. We are soulmates.
