SANGAREDDY: Finally, the district officials of Medak have decided to set up mini Shilparamam here. It will be developed on the same lines of Shilparamam built in Hyderabad. Initially, officials planned to set up Shilparamam in Sangareddy only but later thought of shifting it to Lakdaram in Patancheru constituency. Unable to finalise about the place, the officials shelved the proposal for nearly a year. However, on Saturday, they took a decision about it and felt that they could attract more number of tourists if it was set up in Sangareddy.Already, there is a mini tank bund in Sangareddy. Recently, officials also provided boating facility. Officials proposed of setting up the mini Silparamam in the 9.26 acres of vacant land near the tank bund and Silparamam special officer G S Rao and collector Suresh Kumar agreed to it. Both the officials visited the proposed site on Saturday evening and decided to beautify the place.Silparamam special officer G S Rao said that funds of Rs 3 crore were available for construction of Silparamam and that an additional Rs 1 crore would be provided if necessary. Apart from beautifying the surrounding, the officials also decided to build a road connecting the Sangareddy- Narsapur road to the mini Shilparamam.This road, officials felt, would not only help people from Sangareddy and Narsapur but also public from other places to reach the place through NH-9.Irrigation department executive engineer Balaraju said that there were proposals to set up a park and a recreation club in the Silparamam, apart from a resort near the place. “The tank bund with the boating facility and other amusement in Shilparamam will help people enjoy their weekends,” he said. There is also an opinion that the modern recreation facilities will reduce officials from settling in Hyderabad and shuttling to Sangareddy.
