KOCHI: The Admission Supervisory Committee for Professional Colleges has asked the self-financing private colleges of the state to make some urgent amendments in their 2012-13 prospectus regarding the student admissions to some of the courses. The changes are being sought as per the recommendations of the P A Mohammad Committee.The courses that require the amendments are BDS, MDS, BPharm, MPharm, DPharm, BSc (Nursing), MSc (Nursing), MCA, MBA, BEd, MEd, Post Basic BSc(Nursing), BSc MLT, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), MPT, BASLP and MASLP. In its list of amendments the committee says the prospectus must carry the regulations put forward by the authorities concerned with these courses. It must also carry the details of the reservations provided to various sections of society, scholarships and situations wherein the fees paid may be returned.The prospectus must carry the details of various benefits and concessions provided to SC/ST/SEBC/OEC categories. Also, the certificates and other documents being submitted by these students must be attested by a gazetted officer or the head of the institution of the students. The committee has asked the respective managements to incorporate the changes in their prospectus in such a way that they may be easily understood by students and parents.
