Separated At Birth: 'The Italian Job' and 'Players'
Though 'Players' was a remake of 'The Italian Job', but some of the frames badly reminded us of the original film.

New Delhi: Hollywood has always been a source of inspiration for film industries around the world, and Bollywood is no exception. However, sometimes the level of inspiration gets really close to copying the original in an exact way.

We have started a series called 'Separated At Birth' to point out such pieces of work where the audience gets really confused between the original and the imitation.

'The Italian Job' (2003) starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron and Edward Norton has a lot of similarities with Abbas-Mustan's 2012 Hindi film 'Players', which had Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead. Though the film was a remake of 'The Italian Job', but some of the frames badly reminded us of the original film.

Both the films have similar climax. In 'Players', Abhishek Bachchan and his team blast the road under a truck to stay ahead in the game. That scene is frame by frame similar to the original film. Here are two clips, the first one belongs to 'The Italian Job' while the second frame is from 'Players'. You will find it difficult to spot the difference between the two.####
