Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday reviewed the security arrangements in the House premises with Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao and other officials in the wake of 'Million March' protest scheduled for March 10.
Manohar directed the police to step up security in and around the Assembly, which is having its budget session.
The Telangana Joint Action Committee (T-JAC) has given a call for 'Million March to Hyderabad' demanding introduction of Telangana Bill in the ongoing Budget session of Parliament.
After the meeting, the DGP told reporters that they (organisers) are "infringing" upon rights of other people by organising such protests which affect normal life.
DIG (Intelligence Security Wing) Sandeep Shandilya and Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan were among the officials who attended the meeting.
Parents and students have expressed concern over the conduct of 'Million March' programme as the intermediate examinations are currently going on.
Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police have clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC banning assembly of people around examination centres.
Earlier in the day, Khan told reporters that permission has not been granted to the proposed march.
"If the agitators defy prohibitory orders and hold rallies or dharnas, stern action would be initiated against them," Khan said.
