Schoolboy run over, mother injured

JHARSUGUDA: A student of St. Thomas School here was run over by a truck while the mother sustained serious injuries on Friday afternoon.    The deceased,  Biswajit Hota (9),  was returning from school on a bicycle along with his mother Minati Hota (31) when the truck hit them from behind at Bileimunda Chhak on NH-49 throwing the mother off the bicycle and crushing the child to death.The injured mother has been admitted to VSS Medical at Burla and the driver arrested. Locals blocked the road and damaged the truck involved in the accident demanding compensation and restrictions on movement of heavy vehicles during school hours.IIC of Jharsuguda Police Station, Kailash Naik rushed to the spot and pacified the crowd.
