SC claim: Cop in trouble

HYDERABAD: Dismissing a writ petition filed by a police constable for interim relief, the High Court has recently directed the state government to initiate prosecution forthwith against the petitioner, G Durga Prasad who was appointed as a police constable on a fake caste certificate that he belongs to the Madiga (SC) community. The court directed the authorities concerned to commplete the criminal case proceedings expeditiously besides immediately withdrawal of benefits secured by the petitioner and recovery of such benefits availed by him during employment.Complaints were received by the Anantapur district scrutiny committee that Durga Prasad did not belong to the Madiga (SC) community but to the Yadava (Golla) community, a BC.
