London: Thursday was a mixed day for Sania Mirza as she crashed out of the women's singles in the second round but along with her American doubles partner Bethanie Mattek advanced to the second round of the women's doubles.

The Indo-American duo beat Britain's Elena Baltacha and Naomi Cavaday 6-4, 6-2 in the first round.

However, India's Rohan Bopanna and his doubles partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan lost 2-6, 4-6, 2-6 to the Spanish duo of Marcel Pujol and Santiago Ventura in the second round.

Ninth seeds Leander Paes and Lukas Louhy had an easy 6-3,7-6,6-3 win against Eric Butorac and Ashley Fisher to move into the third round of the men's doubles.
