New Delhi: Samsung is all set to launch its much-awaited Galaxy S5 smartphone in India today. While there is no official word on its pricing yet, a Mumbai-based retailer, who has a proven track record of giving information beforehand, said in a tweet (that apparently no longer exists) that the phone will be priced at Rs 51,500.

It is still unknown whether the new wearable devices from Samsung including the Gear Fit and Gear 2, would also be announced for the Indian market on the same day.

The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display. Powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core application processor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat, it will come packed with a 2800mAh battery. It has 2GB of RAM.

The Galaxy S5 is dust and water resistant. It also offers a Finger Scanner, providing a secure, biometric screen locking feature.

Its Ultra Power Saving Mode turns the display to black and white, and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimise the battery consumption.

The Galaxy S5 features a 16 megapixel rear camera. It is claimed to offer the world's fastest autofocus speed - up to 0.3 seconds. Its new Selective Focus feature allows users to focus on a specific area of an object while simultaneously blurring out the background. It has a 2.1 megapixel front camera.
