HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao on Sunday welcomed the statement of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy that a solution to Telangana issue would come within three months. In an informal interaction with media persons, he said solution to Telangana could not be other than formation of a separate state. This was obvious from the sacrifices of over 600 people for Telangana, the resignations of legislators, MPs and reluctance of ministers to attend their duties. The Rajya Sabha member, who is also chairman of the steering committee of Telangana Congressmen, wanted the chief minister to move a resolution in the Assembly for Telangana as envisaged by the Union home minister P Chidambaram and an all-party leaders' resolution. He could issue a whip to Congress legislators to this effect.Once this is done, the steering committee could consider the chief minister's announcement and suspend the agitation for Telangana, he said.Replying to a question, Keshava Rao lashed out at former chief minister K Rosaiah for the present impasse. He disapproved of Rosaiah's statement that he told the high command that he would not be able to move a resolution for Telangana. The Rajya Sabha member wondered how could the Centre issue the December 9 statement even after Rosaiah saying that moving a resolution was impossible."Was Rosaiah trying to tell us that the Centre including Prime Minister and the home minister wanted to mislead the people of Telangana by making a wrong statement in the Parliament to deceive the people.'' He wanted Rosaiah to tell the people who deceived whom.Keshava Rao said he was raising the issue after Rosaiah was appointed governor of Tamil Nadu lest such an issue might have become an impediment for his appointment.
