ROURKELA: With all the flood affected people returning, the Sundargarh administration on Wednesday closed all camps except one at the Deogaon School here. Loss assessment has been started by the administration. As the flood water receded from the low- lying areas along the bank of the Brahmani on the outskirts of Rourkela city, the administration stopped running free kitchen from Tuesday and people returned to their homes with four days of ration and polythene sheets. Around 15 persons of Deogaon stayed back at the Deogaon school camp demanding immediate compensation for house damage.  Sundargarh Collector Rupa Roshan Sahu said assessment of all houses, be it mud or pucca, in Bonai and Panposh sub-divisions would be completed in 10 days.As per government guidelines, victims of collapsed houses having own land would get compensation. Majority of the victims had, however, settled on government land and are apprehensive of being left out.  Urban Development Minister SP Nayak has assured them to take up the matter with the government to ensure them relief.
