Rajiv Jyothi Yatra flagged off

BANGALORE: Former Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president R V Deshpande on Monday flagged off Rajiv Jyothi Yatra organised by labour cell of the party.Speaking on the occasion, Deshpande said that the labour cell has been organising Rajiv Jyothi Yatra for the last 20 years to promote peace in the country. He said, “It is heartening to see that Rahul Gandhi  is following the footprints of Rajiv Gandhi. We are happy that Rahul Gandhi has been supporting poor and farmers in the country. All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi has also worked for the party like how Rajiv Gandhi made his contribution to the party. She has been working for the Congress without expecting anything in return. I pray God to bless her with good health,” he said.Speaking on the occasion, Prakasam, president, labour cell, KPCC, said that this programme is being organised for the last 20 years to promote peace in the country. He said the tour programme would culminate at Allahabad on August 20 to mark the birth anniversary of the late Rajiv Gandhi.
