A man from Rajasthan, named Guru, who posted videos on social media where he is seen assigning ‘price tags’ to foreign female tourists and making derogatory remarks.
Guys like these are the reason why international tourists have bad experience in India. @jaipur_police should arrest this guy for harassing tourists and teach him basic civic sense and the meaning of Atithi Devo Bhava. pic.twitter.com/I59AymLtHQ— Madhur Singh (@ThePlacardGuy) June 22, 2024

Social media users said the women tourists in one of Guru’s videos were visiting the Amer Fort in Jaipur. The unsuspecting tourists are seen smiling on the camera, unaware of the derogatory remarks being made by Guru.
Police responded to social media users calling for the man to be arrested after they were tagged to the video, on social media platform X. They said they have detained the man and are probing the case.
They further added that the man was found to have forced tourists from his shop at Jaipur’s Amer Market.
“A reel is going viral on the internet through Instagram, in which the police took strict action against the accused who touched some foreign female tourists, behaved indecently and made baseless false statements,” Jaipur Police said.
“Police have registered a case under sections 354, 505 (2) IPC, 66D IT Act, 13 (1), 13 (2) Rajasthan Tourism Business Act and have rounded up the accused. During investigation it was found that the accused forced the tourists to buy the goods from his own designated shops,” the police said, responding to the calls of arrest raised by social media users.
