New Delhi: Dhanush's Bollywood debut seems to have struck the right chord with the audiences as 'Raanjhanaa' seems to be escalating in terms of box office collections. The film which collected Rs 5.15 crore on its opening day has managed to rake in Rs 20.08 crore by the end of the opening weekend.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Raanjhanaa collected approx Rs 20.08 cr nett in its opening weekend. Breakup:- Fri 5.12 cr, Sat 6.81 cr, Sun *est* 8.15 cr."
The film picked up business after the opening day. Where the second day collections were just Rs 6.81 crore, there turned out to be jump in the collections on Sunday.
Despite being Dhanush's bollywood debut, 'Raanjhanaa' has done quite good business and the film's collection is expected to go up.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, 'Raanjhanaa' revolves the story of a Hindu boy who falls in love with a Muslim girl. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol and Swara Bhaskar.
