The national conference would be held in Puducherry on October 5 and 6 and the international conference on October 7.The conference was aimed at strengthening secularism and opposing religious fundamentalism, strengthening the struggle for nuclear disarmament and raising voice against escalation of arms race. The conference would also discuss specific international issues of conflict and adopt resolutions.K Lakshminarayanan, president of organisation, said that resolutions urging the Indian Govt to restore Sri Lankan Tamils rights and draw international attention on the issue would be adopted in the conference.Sengupta said delegates from 21 states would take part in the national conference and delegates from 15 countries would take part in the international conference.
