BANGALORE: Colleges in the city are all geared up to follow the new procedure set by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) for submission of application forms. For the first time, the DPUE has introduced common application forms for admissions to I PUC. Applications can be downloaded for free from the website www.pue.kar.nic.in. Forms are accepted from May 17 to May 25 across all the colleges. By noon, only four students turned up at St Annes PU College in Vasanthnagar. With the application forms available online, the college is forced to stash away the admissions forms it had printed. Sister Annette, principal of the college, said that students were expected to come in for admissions from Monday. Mount Carmel PU College saw more than 300 applicants. Rani Suganya, a counsellor at the Mount Carmel Grievance Cell, said that the new regulation did not affect the college in anyway, but the uniform cost of Rs 20 was cost effective for students applying in many colleges. “Getting the application form is hassle-free. Now, many copies of the same form can easily be taken and submitted to different colleges,” said a parent. The last date for admission into I PUC without fine is June 15. With a fine of Rs 420, the last date for admission is June 22. The academic year begins on May 30
